Over three week we will cover one Chapter at a time. I will be showing you the exact methods I use to research my relatives, and how to find out what was happening in their lives at a specif time in history. you will be amazed at how much information is going to be available for you to create a family tree, a family treasure, that will be passed on to generations to come in the future.

Week 1 - Chapter 1: Getting Started

During week 1 you will learn how to get started with genealogy, how to start building your family tree, and you will be setting goals for your upcoming journey looking into your family history.

Week 2 - Chapter 2: Gathering Information from Your Family

Week 2 you will come away with a list of questions to ask your living relatives, how to approach them with great interview techniques, and you will learn how to handle sensitive topics if they come up during the interview.

Week 3 - Chapter 3: Organizing

As we move on to Week 3 you will be setting goals for yourself so that you can stay organized. This is one of the most important topics within this course and you need to go slow and take your time setting up your system to keep track of all the information you will be coming across during your research into your family history. You will find out how to create folders, what to name your folders and files, and setting up a hard copy system, as well as a digital system. You will also learn how to make a digital backup of all your information so you do not loose everything you have gathered so far and into the future.
